More than 20 chefs and pastry chefs from around the
world will converge in Ha Noi in early November for four days to share
their skills with fellow professionals, students and the public.
The central city will host the central and north-central region
qualifiers for the annual Golden Spoon Awards today and tomorrow (August
4 and 5) at the Golden Phoenix Conference Centre.
A team of three chefs from Intercontinental Da Nang
Sun Peninsula Resort won first prize at the Chiec Thia Vang (Golden
Spoon) contest, receiving VND1 billion (US$47,370) in cash and a trophy.
Fifteen outstanding teams of chefs will head to Binh Duong Province''s Minh Sang Plaza to compete in the final round of the Chiec thia vang (Golden Spoon) contest tomorrow.
Talented young Vietnamese chefs will receive intensive training from
veteran chefs of the Viet Nam Association of the Disciples of Auguste
Escoffier to develop their skills.
