Art by children who entered a road safety painting
contest went on display today as one among a series of cultural events
the culture ministry holds to celebrate the capital''s Liberation Day on
October 10.
The Saigon Outcast will hold the Melting Pot Art Festival on February 22
and 23,featuring exhibitions featuring illustrations, woodcut prints,
photos, clothing and handmade accessories by expat and local artists and
organisations.
Hue opens two exhibitions that offer free entrance to visitors, showing
photos of a German artist and memorials from friends of a Vietnamese
well-known late song composer Trinh Cong Son.
Galerie Quynh, in collaboration with Sofitel Saigon Plaza, will present an exhibition of works by abstract artist Tran Van Thao, one of Viet Nam''s pioneering abstract painters, from today to November 22.
Amateur and professional photographers are being
given the chance to show their photos of the Hong (Red) River Delta at a
photo contest launched by the culture ministry''s Department of Fine
Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, it was announced in the capital
yesterday.
"Ha Noi''s Days and Nights in 1972," an exhibit of
photos of Ha Noi taken during the 1972 US B52 aerial bombardment of the
city, will open tonight at the French Cultural Centre.
