The autobiography of Professor Tran Van Khe, one of the greatest masters
of Vietnamese traditional music, who passed away on June 24, will be
reprinted for the sixth time on the occasion of his birthday on July 24.
The first encounter in Manzi''s traditional music series Old Sounds of
the New Day will start next Friday, July 17, with a xam performance
featuring two masters of traditional music, Xuan Hoach and Thanh Hoai,
and other talented musicians.
A free new music programme at theatres, parks,
universities, industrial parks and export processing zones in HCM City
will be held regularly as part of the city''s cultural activities to
celebrate the country''s Reunification Day on April 30.
On Sunday, Bookworm and Hanoi Cooking Centre will host an afternoon of
traditional music, calligraphy and zodiac animal painting in honour of

Sai Gon Xua Va Nay (Saigon Then and Now), a new music programme
featuring Viet Nam''s traditional music and dances, will be organised on
Sunday evening at HCM City''s Opera House.
Twelve professional traditional music instrumentalists from seven Asia
countries will gather in Ha Noi for a world premiere of the musical
performance Drums&Voices this month.
