Vietnamese weightlifters will try to secure their Olympic berths at the
coming world championships to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from
November 4 to 16.
Vietnamese weightlifting ace Thach Kim Tuan yesterdat won three bronze
medals in his favourite 56kg event at the World Weightlifting
Championship, which is taking place in Wroclaw, Poland.
The rising Vietnamese stars Thach Kim Tuan and Tran Le Quoc Toan are
expected to perform strongly at Poland''s forthcoming World Weighlifting
Championships, despite facing some ominous opposition.
Tran Le Quoc Toan has been retrospectively awarded a
bronze medal from the World Weightlifting Championships in Paris last
year after El Maoui Khalil of Tunesia was found guilty of breaking the
rules.
Vietnamese weightlifter Tran Le Quoc Toan has had
his chances of claiming an Olympic medal boosted, following the news
that tough rivals China will only be sending one man to compete in the
men''s 56kg event.
I believe in fortune and I also have faith in
myself.I dare to set my own destiny and achieve my lifetime ambition,"
says Tran Le Quoc Toan, the only Vietnamese weightlifter to qualify for
this summer''s London Olympics.
Tran Le Quoc Toan is on the verge of grasping an
Olympic ticket after his silver medal performance at the ongoing Asian
Weightlifting Championships in South Korea.
With only a few weeks remaining before the London
Olympic organisers announce the final list of participants, Vietnamese
athletes are hastening to pick up the last tickets.
Vietnamese weightlifter Tran Le Quoc Toan has ranked in the top three of
the men''s 56kg division following the latest rankings issued by the
International Weightlifting Federation.
