A ceremony was held recently to honour vi giam, a type of folk singing in
the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. The traditional art has
received a slot on UNESCO''s world intangible heritage list.
Bringing vi giam singing into schools would help preserve the art, Prof
Tran Quang Hai from the French National Centre for Scientific Research
said at an international conference held recently in Vinh, Nghe An
Province.
