HCM CITY (VNS) — Vietnamese athletes were swept out of the Yonex Sunrise Viet Nam Open after national top player Nguyen Tien Minh lost yesterday in HCM City.
The No 7 seed was unexpectedly defeated 15-21, 21-6, 14-21 by Malaysian Chong Wei Feng who is No 10 in the men's singles category.
His defeat removes the last Vietnamese athlete left at the annual event which has prizemoney of US$50,000.
The Open will conclude on Sunday at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium. — VNS
