HA NOI (VNS) — Defending champions Thai Son Nam FC of Viet Nam had an incredible start when they thrashed Malaysia's Felda United 8-0 in the AFF Bangkok Futsal Clubs Championship 2015.

Thai Thi Thao made a blitz double in the eighth and ninth minute, giving Thai Son Nam a great start.

Nguyen Thi Chau added another goal a minute later.

Felda United finished the first half four goals behind, when Hannani Adriana Shamsul Azizan conceded an own goal in the 17th minute.

Thai Son Nam were relentless in the second half as they added more goals with Pham Thi Tuoi scoring in the 26th minute, Nguyen Thi Thanh three minutes later, Ho Thi Thu Hien in the 32nd minute and Phung Thi Nhung in the 36th minute.

Earlier, Dural Warriors of Australia overcame Myanmar's ACE FC 3-0.

Initial hesitancy of both teams saw only one goal being scored when Dural's Samantha Jo Nagy headed in a 17th minute cross from Sarah Yatim for the lead.

ACE tried to get their act together in the second half, but found themselves falling behind further when Yatim scored the second goal for Dural just a minute after the restart.

Yatim, easily the livewire in the team, then scored Dural's third goal after 29 minutes.

ACE came close on a couple of occasions, but just could not snag the goal they were looking for.

In the men's competition, Viet Nam's Sanna Khanh Hoa held MIC FC from Myanmar to a 1-1 draw in the last game of the day.

After the break, Sanna Khanh Hoa stepped up to score for Khong Dinh Hung. MIC then regrouped in search of the equaliser.

With 10 seconds remaining and just when Sanna Khanh Hoa thought that they had three points in the bag, a well-taken shot from the right off Kyaw Soe Moe saw the ball deflect from Tran Van Thanh and land in the goal.

In the next fixture, Sanna Khanh Hoa will play Australia's East Coast Heat FC who lost 1-4 to Felda United in another game. — VNS
