HA NOI (VNS) — Fourteen-year-old boy Do Tan Thanh was the top player in the programme called Football Dreams, which concluded in HCM City on August 25.
With this win, he has entered the world final round to be held in Qatar in January next year.
Thanh will compete with other young international players from 16 countries for three-year scholarships granted by the Aspire Academy.
"I am very happy to know that I have earned a ticket to go to Qatar. I will try my best in the final round," Thanh of PVF centre said.
Football Dreams, a recruiting project that develops young football talents, is in its ninth year in Viet Nam. It is organised by Qatar's Aspire Academy and the Viet Nam Football Federation.
The unique scouting project aims to identify future talents of world football. Since its 2007 launch, Aspire's Football Dreams project has tested thousands of young footballers from Asia, South America and Africa.
Da Nang-born Nguyen Thai Sung is the first Vietnamese player to receive a three-year scholarship at the academy. — VNS
