HA NOI (VNS) — Businessman Le Van Thanh was voted chairman of the Viet Nam Federation of Volleyball at a congress organised in Ha Noi over the weekend.
Thanh, general director of the Dong Luc Sport Group, will be assisted by three deputies.
International referee Le Duy Truong was voted general secretary of the Viet Nam Federation of Volleyball.
They will take on heavy tasks in the 2015-19 period.
The new team has set a target of winning silver medals (by both the men's and women's teams) at the 29th Southeast Asian Games in 2017 in Malaysia.
Viet Nam will also aim to enter the top eight at the Asian Beach Games next year in Da Nang City, and the top five for women and top 10 for men at the Asian Games in 2018 in Indonesia.
The number of participants at the national championships will be reduced from 12 to eight to raise the tournament's quality. — VNS
