HA NOI (VNS)— National cyclist Nguyen Thi That of An Giang stormed to a gold medal in the women's 500m event at the National Cycling Championship in Binh Duong Province yesterday.
In the men's 500m event, Do Tuan Anh of Dong Thap crossed the line first, closely followed by Tran Van Quyen of the military and Le Ngoc Thanh of HCM City.
In the men's 4km individual time trial, Mai Nguyen Hung of HCM City overcame Bui Minh Thuy of Vinh Long to claim victory, while Nguyen Truong Tai of Dong Thap took third place.
In the women's 3km individual time trial, gold medal went to Nguyen Thuy Dung from Binh Duong, whose teammate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Trang and Nguyen Thi Thanh of Dong Thap were second and third, respectively.
Binh Duong retained their lead in the team rankings with three gold, three silver and two bronze medals, leaving An Giang and HCM City trailing behind.
Today cyclists will compete in the men's and women's 500m double events as well as in the men's 4km team time trial and the women's 3km team time trial. — VNS
