VUNG TAU (VNS) — Nguyen Thi That won the women's individual 83km mass start category at the National Road Race Cycling Championships, which concluded in Vung Tau City yesterday.
An Giang team veteran That clocked a time of 1:57.52 to beat the 28 other cyclists on the road. Silver and bronze went to Nguyen Thuy Dung of Binh Duong and Pham Thi Thuy Lien of HCM City respectively.
The Binh Duong team, however, took first place with a combined time of 5:53.36, followed by HCM City and An Giang.
With a total of five gold medals in individual and team events, That holds the title of the event's best athlete.
Thanks to That's stellar record, her An Giang team tops the medal tally with eight golds, one silver and five bronzes. — VNS
