HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese player Nguyen Hoang Thien will get free training at Integration Sports, a tennis academy in Chinese Taipei.
The details of the training contract have not been released, but according to academy director Jeff Hsu, apart from getting training practice, Thien will also take part in 25 to 30 professional tournaments every year depending on his ability.
Thien, 19, is one of the best Vietnamese players. He competed in the Australian Open's junior category in 2012.
Hsu said Thien was selected because he is in the most important phase of his career. If he gets the best support possible, he could become an outstanding player.
Previously, Thien has trained for one year at Integration Sports and improved some of his weaknesses.
The national runner-up was really interested in getting the contract which will allow him to compete with strong rivals regularly.
