A third cable car system will become operational at Ba Na Hills in Da Nang on March 29, to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang City.
This is the longest in the world to set four world records, recognised by the Guinness World Records group for its length (5,771m), its greatest difference in height between departure and destination (1,368m), its longest non-stop cable length (11,585m), and its heaviest cable weight (141 tonnes).
The new cable car has 86 cabins and takes only 17 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. It can carry 1,500 visitors per hour.
The Ba Na Hills resort is expected to welcome 1 million visitors this year. Last year, it received over 760,000 visitors, up 120 per cent over 2011.-VNS
