HCM CITY (VNS)— Film screenings began in HCM City yesterday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the city's Cinematography Association.
Organised by the association and the Viet Nam Cinema Department, Viet Nam Film Distribution and Screening Company (Fafilm VN) together with local cinemas, there is a full schedule of Vietnamese films, documentaries and cartoons.
Thirteen films are being screened, including Vi Dang Tinh Yeu (The Bitter Taste of Love), Dung Truoc Bien (Facing the Sea), Loi The (The Oath), and Nhung Nguoi Ban Quanh Toi (Friends Around Me).
The screenings will end on November 4.
The organisers will also deliver videos and DVDs of the films to people living in rural districts and neighbouring provinces.
As part of the celebration, a photo exhibition featuring 30 years of the association's beginnings and its development opened last night at the city's Exhibition House. — VNS
