HA NOI (VNS)– Nguyen Thuy Dung made Vietnamese cycling history by taking the leader's yellow jersey at the Princess Maha Chackri Sirindhon's Cup Women's Tour of Thailand today.
The 23-year-old took the overall lead with a combined time of seven hours, 21 minutes and 11 seconds after three stages.
Although Hsiao Mei Yu of Chinese Taipei won the 122km last and third stage from Phangnga to Phuket this morning, she missed out on winning the event's most important award.
In the second stage from Phuket to Phangnga Province lasting 83.3km yesterday, Dung also won the yellow jersey and green jersey as the best sprinter. – VNS
