THUA THIEN HUE (VNS)—Hue will host a tourism promotion programme to coincide with the reopening of Phu Bai Airport next month.
Phan Tien Dung, director of the Thua Thien - Hue Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the campaign would include a series of cultural and tourism events to celebrate 20 Hue relic sites and the tenth anniversary of Nha Nhac (Court Music)'s recognition as a world heritage.
The campaign, scheduled for September 1-25, will feature discounts on hotel rates and other services and attractions like free Nha Nhac performances.
The airport was closed on March 20 for runway repairs, and since then visitors to Hue had to fly into Da Nang, about 100km away, and travel by road.
Despite the closure, the province welcomed more than one million tourists in the first seven months, an increase of three per cent year-on-year, including 400,000 foreigners.-VNS
