Police are advising foreign visitors to HCM City to be aware of gambling cons perpetrated by a group of Filipino nationals.

Preliminary investigations show over 10 Filipinos have entered Viet Nam as tourists with a plan to snare foreign visitors in HCM City, police say. They befriend foreigners, invite them to play cards and allow the former to win many games in a row before trapping them and extracting all their money.

Since early this year, the Filipino nationals have swindled many Asian tourists, police said.-VNS
