HA NOI (VNS)— Visitors to the 2013 edition of the famed Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas yesterday were delighted by a spectacular performance by two battery-perated dancing robots from Viet Nam.
DiscoRobe and mRobo are two of the latest products from Viet Nam's only hi-tech toy-making company, Tosy Robotics. They received an admiring response from the crowds at the fair, said Tosy general director Ho Vinh Hoang.
US choreographer Derek Hough of the television show Dancing with the Stars said he was very proud to have been a choreographer for mRobo.
"It can convey great emotion to people, the most essential element for a professional dancer," Hough told an interviewer from the US television programme Spike TV. "I'm really proud to have contributed to the development of this product, actually a dream comes true."
As the fair, the robots snagged three prizes: best items from popular science; best hi-tech toy from webspace; and the prize from the website Mashable for excellent new toy, said Hoang. — VNS
