HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese top female tennis player Huynh Phuong Dai Trang, who is studying in the US, has confirmed she will compete in the National Tennis Championships to be held in Ha Noi on September 16.
Trang, who won the Viet Nam Masters tennis tournament, is expected to win for her team, HCM City, three gold medals in the women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
Trang missed many domestic and international events, including the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore, because of her busy school schedule.
The 22-year-old Trang has a WTA singles career high ranking of 876 achieved on 12 April 2010 and a WTA doubles career high ranking of 380 reached on 23 July 2012.
At the 2011 SEA Games she picked up two bronze medals in the doubles and team events. — VNS
