HA NOI (VNS) — Tran Quoc Tuan of Viet Nam was elected deputy chairman of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) for the 2015-19 term during the federation's 22nd congress in Yangon, Myanmar, according to the Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF).
Tuan is currently the VFF's secretary general. His election is expected to help promote Vietnamese football around the region.
Duong Vu Lam, head of the VFF's southern representative office, served as the AFF's deputy chairman for the 2011-2015 term.
The congress elected Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah of Malaysia as president of the AFF for a second term, and four deputy chairmen: Khiev Sameth of Cambodia, Zaw Zaw of Myanmar, Sufri Bolkiah of Brunei and Tuan of Viet Nam. — VNS
