TUYEN QUANG (VNS)—Tuyen Quang won the 12-14 years group at the National Junior Pencak Silat Championships which concluded in the northern province of Tuyen Quang at the weekend.

Pencak silat is a unifying term for Indonesian fighting styles. Pencak is the performance aspect of the martial art while silat is fighting and self defence.

Tuyen Quang brought home seven golds and five bronzes. HCM City came second with five golds, three silvers and two bronzes. Phu Tho were third with three golds, one silver and one bronze.

Meanwhile Ha Noi took the lead in both years 15-17 and 18-20.

The seven-day event attracted 500 martial artists from 26 teams nationwide for 61 medal sets.-VNS
