HA NOI (VNS)— A special art and culture programme to welcome the New Year will be broadcast live on the first day of 2013 on Viet Nam Television (VTV).
"The programme, Four Seasons, is like a seasons' greeting to wish all audience members a year full of joy, health and success," said director Do Thanh Hai.
The annual VTV special first aired last year. This year, Four Seasons will gather well-known artists for performances and "give the audience a chance to review the cultural and sports highlights of the past year and welcome the New Year with people all over the continent", Hai said.
Following the theme, the show will focus on seasonal festivals around the world, contrasting the picturesque autumn landscape of the Ninh Binh Province-based Trang An Eco-Tourism Site with the festive atmosphere of one of Scotland's summer street music festivals or Russia's winter White Nights Festival.
Songs from various cultures related to spring, summer, autumn and winter will be performed.
The show's guests also represent the four seasons: violinist Bui Cong Duy, dancer Linh Nga, writer Chu Lai and Miss World Vietnam 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan.
The show will welcome the country's top singers and bands including Thanh Lam, Hong Nhung, My Linh, My Tam, Tung Duong, Thu Minh, Uyen Linh and MTV band.
The programme will start at 8.05pm on Tuesday on VTV Channel 1 (VTV1). — VNS
