Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) volunteer guide Roman Szlam (right) explains the Hoa Phong Tower, the last remaining vestige of the Bao An Pagoda which stood on the shores of Hoan Kiem Lake in the 1800s, to participants at a Discovery Hanoi tour on June 14. FVH is a non-formal group of mainly Ha Noi residents from many countries, including Viet Nam, whose purpose is to enhance and deepen the understanding of Viet Nam's culture, and to help with its preservation.
