HCM CITY (VNS) — The United States (US) Department of State will provide aid to the Thua Thien-Hue Province to help preserve the Trieu To Temple in Hue imperial city.
The US$700,000 aid will be channelled through the US Consulate General in HCM City.
The project will focus on restoring the deteriorating front facade of the temple.
Located in the south-eastern part of the imperial city, the Trieu To Temple was built in 1804 to worship Nguyen Kim (1468-1545), the first ancestors of the Nguyen dynasty, and his wife.
At the beginning of this year, the US Department of State gave nearly $30,000 for the restoration of three altars in the Trieu To Temple. – VNS
