Van Huong takes gold for Dak Lak.

HA NOI (VNS) — Archer Nguyen Thi Van Huong from Dak Lak won the first gold medal in the women's recurve competition (one-stringed bow) at the 2015 National Archery Championships at the Ha Noi National Sports Centre on September 7.

She surprised spectators with a score of 344 points in the 30m discipline. Loc Thi Dao and Le Thi Thu Hien from Ha Noi were the runners-up with 342 and 341 points, respectively.

During the competition, the host team of Ha Noi also won gold and silver medals in other categories. Gold medals were awarded to Nguyen Tien Cuong in the 30m and 50m disciplines in the men's compound (three-stringed bow), as well as Hoang Van Loc in the 50m discipline in the men's recurve (one-stringed bow).

After two days of competition, Ha Noi is ranked first at the medals table with six gold, nine silver and ten bronze medals, followed by Tra Vinh with four gold, one silver and one bronze medals.

The tournament has attracted 89 archers from 14 provinces and cities and is being held from September 5-10. — VNS
