The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) will invite two overseas Vietnamese players to play for the national U22 squad in preparation for the Asian U22 Football Championships 2013 qualifiers.
Nguyen Thanh Giang of Slovakia and Mac Van Quan of Germany were both born in Viet Nam, have Vietnamese parents, and hold Vietnamese citizenship.
The decision was made following a meeting between VFF Vice President Pham Ngoc Vien and coach Mai Duc Chung, who picked the two players.
The 21-year-old Giang is a striker for Ergebirge Aue FC, a second division club, while 20-year-old Quan played for Sparta Praha B team and scored two goals on his debut last year.
The two players are scheduled to return to Viet Nam on June 3 and begin training on June 5, before heading to the qualifying event in Myanmar from June 22 to July 9.-VNS
