The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) scheduled to sign a contract with coach Phan Thanh Hung in early September to coach the national team, the VFF's General Secretary Ngo Le Bang has announced.

Bang said Hung wouldn't have to leave his current V-League club position at Ha Noi T&T, and could coach both teams concurrently.

Hung faces a tough job ahead of him, with T&T involved in the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup and the Southeast Asian Games next year.

He will receive a monthly salary of around VND200 million (US$9,500). — VNS
