HA NOI – Viet Nam's under-19 football team beat Cambodia U-21s 2-1 in the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy tournament in Brunei yesterday.
Heavy rain before the kick off made conditions difficult for the players, and both teams failed to score in the first half. However, ten minutes into the second half, Viet Nam's captain Que Ngoc Hai netted the ball.
In the 90th minute, Pham Hoang Lam headed a second to put Viet Nam two goals up, but Cambodian managed to pull one back two minutes later.
With a win and a draw behind them, Viet Nam now lead group B with four points. The U-21 Timor Leste team and Brunei Darussalam U-21s are in second and third place, respectively.
In group A, Indonesia lead on four points, followed by the U-21 teams from Myanmar and Laos.
