HA NOI (VNS)– Viet Nam men's national football team slid 12 places to 145th in the latest FIFA world rankings because they did not play a match last month.
Thailand ranked 138th, replacing Viet Nam as leader in Southeast Asia, followed by the Philippines (144th).
Japan sit firmly on top in Asia despite a five-place slip to 37th in the world. Australia (40th) and South Korea (43rd) came second and third.
Spain still lead the world. The second and third places are occupied by Germany and Colombia.
With the title of FIFA Confederations Cup, five-time world champion Brazil jumped 13 places to become ninth in the world. – VNS
