(VNS) —Viet Nam finished second after losing to China's Jiangsu team 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 25–20, 25-19) in the final match of the International Women's Volleyball Tournament (VTV Cup) on Saturday in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
In the third-place playoff match, Shandong defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-11, 25- 15, 25-17).
Jiangsu walked away with a US$10,000 cash prize, while the runners-up received $7,000 and $5,000.
The event's organising board presented the best player award to Vietnamese star Pham Thi Ngoc Hoa.
This year's eight-day event attracted six teams.-VNS
