In the quarter-finals against Denmark, Duong Anh Vu was defeated by Tonny Carlsen 0-3 while Ma Xuan Cuong overcame Thomas Anderson 3-1. The team eventually lost to Denmark 3-4.
Earlier, the Vietnamese players met their rivals from the Netherlands and Sweden in the second round after finishing second in Group C. The teams finished on level pegging but Viet Nam's set average was highest at 6-5 against Sweden on 5-5 and the Netherlands on 4-5.
Belgium took the title followed by the hosts and Denmark.-VNS
