architecture, gastronomy and business have been at honoured the "Men of
the Year 2012" ceremony held in HCM City yesterday.
HCM CITY (VNS)– Vietnamese men from the worlds of culture, sport, architecture, gastronomy and business have been at honoured the "Men of the Year 2012" ceremony held in HCM City yesterday.
The Team of the Year award was devoted to film director Victor Vu, and actors Van Trang, Maya and Minh Thuan who starred in the film Bi Mat Tham Do (Scandal).
The Architect of the Year title went to Vo Trong Nghia, who has become famous nationwide and internationally for his environmentally-friendly buildings.
Luke Nguyen won the Chef of the Year award. He is best known as the host of Australian television series Luke Nguyen's Viet Nam in which he travels through the country, cooking in the ad hoc manner of Viet Nam's street vendors.
Tien Minh won the Sportsman of the Year award, while comic artist Tran Thanh was named Funny Man of the Year.
The "Men of the Year" awards were launched by Sports, Culture and Men magazine in 2005. The publication's journalists vote for the candidates based on different criteria including their professionalism, contribution to their field and influence on other people.
Others were also honoured for their outstanding performance over the past year including maths professor Ngo Bao Chau, film directors Tran Anh Hung and Phan Dang Di and singer Tung Duong. VNS
