Despite its defeat at the ASEAN Football Federation Cup, Viet Nam moved one step higher in the world ranking in December.

FIFA now lists Viet Nam as No 137 in the world and second in Southeast Asia (ASEAN). The Philippines, who were stopped at the Cup's group round, are No 1 in the region.

Also, Myanmar placed third, and Thailand, after advancing to the Cup final, is ranked No 142 in the world and fourth in ASEAN.

Germany finished in the top position, followed by Argentina and Colombia. — VNS
