Viet Nam enjoyed success at the World Chess Olympiad
in Turkey, with the men's team finishing seventh out of 150 and their
female counterparts ranking 26th amongst 127 teams at the tournament,
which drew to a close on Sunday.

In the final round of the tournament, the men's team beat Uzbekistan 3-1 with Nguyen Duc Hoa and Dao Thien Hai recording victories and Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Van Huy both drawing with their opponents.
Armenia won the gold medal in the category, with Russia and Ukraine taking silver and bronze, respectively.
The women's team also performed strongly with an impressive 4-0 victory over Turkey with wins from Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Le Kieu Thien Kim, Hoang Thi Nhu Y and Pham Bich Ngoc.
Russia took the first place in the rankings, followed by China and Ukraine.-VNS
