DONG THAP (VNS) —Viet Nam successfully defended their team title at the World Shuttlecock Championships which closed yesterday in Dong Thap Province.
On the last day of the four-day competition, the hosts pocketed two gold medals in the men's and women's trio event, beating arch-rivals China 2-0 in both finals.
With four golds and three silvers in total, Viet Nam topped the table for the seventh time.
The world shuttlecock champions also won golds in the women's singles and men's doubles events.
China finished second with three gold and four silver medals, followed by Hungary in third with three bronze medals.
The world championships were held from September 2-5 with the participation of more than 100 athletes from 12 teams.
The next edition will be organised in Italy in 2015. — VNS
