HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam jumped up four steps in international football rankings, according to FIFA's latest list.
The world football-governing body ranked Viet Nam 137th in its January table. It was ranked 19th in Asia and second in Southeast Asia.
The Philippines, which climbed up one step to number 129 in the world rankings, topped the ASEAN list. Myanmar was second in ASEAN and 141st worldwide.
Thailand dropped to 144th in the world and fourth in region, though they won last month's ASEAN Football Federation Cup.
In Asia, Iran maintained its spot as the leading team, followed by Japan and South Korea.
The world top 10 didn't change, as no international tournament has taken place recently. Germany is still on top, with Argentina and Colombia close behind. — VNS
