HA NOI (VNS) — Eight Vietnamese junior chess players will compete in the World Youth Chess Championship to be held in Durban, South Africa, from September 18 to 30.
World U10 champion Nguyen Anh Khoi will participate in the U12 division in the event.
All FIDE members and chess academies have been invited to participate in the event, which is being organised by the South African Chess Federation under the auspices of FIDE.
The players will compete in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 categories for boys and girls. They will play in the format of the Swiss system with 11 rounds. — VNS
