The championships is expected to be held in HCM City.
Chungwon has promised strong support to help Viet Nam and HCM City host the event. Experts will be sent to the country while athletes will enjoy training courses abroad to help realise their gold medal dreams at the coming Olympics in Rio in 2016.
In other news on taekwondo, Viet Nam ranked second after the first day of competition at a tournament organised for French-speaking countries in HCM City.
The host team's athletes grabbed two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
Those from the Ivory Coast took the lead with three golds.
The tournament, the ninth of its kind, involves 200 officials, coaches and martial artists representing 17 French-speaking nations across Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia on June 15-16.-VNS
