HA NOI (VNS) —Viet Nam won a gold and a silver medal at the ASEAN Handball Championships, which wrapped up in Thailand on Sunday.
The women's team successfully defended their title after beating Thailand 35-27 in the final match.
Malaysia are at third place.
Earlier, they won all five games to enter the finals.
The men's team, however, lost 34-35 to Thailand to win a silver medal.
The Philippines take the bronze.
Handball is not scheduled at the ongoing Myanmar's SEA Games, in which Viet Nam's men's and women's teams triumphed in 2003 in Ha Noi. — VNS
