HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam won 10 gold, two silver and eight bronze medals to temporarily rank fourth at the 2015 ASEAN School Games at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Brunei, yesterday.
Viet Nam's gold medals are mainly from athletics events of javelin, long jump and running.
Indonesia took the lead with 19 golds, 17 silvers and six bronzes. Malaysia are second with 17 golds, 12 silvers and 16 bronzes.
Viet Nam sent 51 athletes and officials to compete in the seventh ASEAN Schools Games which kicked off in Brunei on Sunday.
The team are competing in four out of seven sports at the event, including athletics, badminton, golf and pencak silat.
The seven-sport event, which aims to foster greater collaboration among school students in ASEAN member countries, will close on Sunday. — VNS
