The team beat Malaysia, 13-9, in the final match. Thailand and Laos shared the bronze medal.
Earlier, the petanque women's team won the silver medal after losing to the hosts, 3-13.
In football, Viet Nam lost, 2-7, in their semi-final match yesterday. They will face the United Arab Emirates in the game for third place today while Japan will face Iran in the championship game.
