Viet Nam won one gold, one silver and one bronze at the ongoing Asian Petanque Championships in Ha Noi on Thursday.

Veteran athlete Huynh Cong Tam took the title in the men's individual event, while Nguyen Thi Thi came second in the women's individual category. Her teammate Nguyen Thi Hien finished third.

This year's tournament has gathered more than 160 competitors from 14 countries and territories who are battling it out in nine categories.

Last year in Thailand, Viet Nam claimed third place overall, pocketing one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. — VNS
