HCM CITY — Vietnam Idol 2012's "pre-casting round" has only passed through four cities, but it has already attracted more than 15,000 registrations, and is set to break the 2010 record of 20,000 registrations.

According to the organisers, the number of people registered to audition for the fourth season of Vietnam Idol nationwide passed 15,000 mark on July 6.

So far the audition rounds have taken place in Hue, Thai Nguyen, Da Nang and Hai Phong. Registration for these rounds, which will take place in Ha Noi, Nha Trang, Da Lat, My Tho, Can Tho and HCM City, will remain open online until July 25. They can also register in person at the auditioning sites. The number of registered candidates is expected to increase significantly when the auditions are held in the nation's two biggest cities, Ha Noi and HCM City. — VNS
