HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese cyclists Nguyen Thi That and Ngoc Trang will take part in a two-week training course in South Korea in preparation for the 17th Asian Games (ASIAD) in Incheon City.
The competitors will take part in the women's road race event on September 27-29. The ASIAD, scheduled for September 19 to October 4, is the largest sporting event in Asia. Governed by the Olympic Council of Asia, the ASIAD features 439 events in 36 sports and disciplines.
Incheon was awarded the right to host the Games on April 17, 2007, defeating Delhi, India. It is the third city in South Korea after Seoul (1986) and Busan (2002) to host the Games. — VNS
