HCM CITY (VNS) — The English-Vietnamese bilingual guidebook about HCM City, entitled Saigon Zoom In, is among the publications that have won the America Graphic Design Awards 2014.
Produced by artist Nguyen Tri Phuong Dong of the Tridong Design, the book is filled with not only information, but also artistic maps, images, charts and graphical maps with several eye-catching, stunning and vivid, besides easy-to-understand icons, with which the readers can relate to the environment of their destination.
Le Lan Anh, development executive of the Viet Nam Visual Travel Guide Project and director of Dai Viet Hoan Cau, which owns the copyright and trademark of the book, revealed that Saigon Zoom In is inspired by the needs of domestic and foreign tourists.
Her team surveyed more than 400 tourists from both outside and inside the country from August 2013 to April 2014. The team got valuable information from the data collected and included sketches of maps in the book.
So far, Sai Gon Zoom In is the first Vietnamese publication to win the America Graphic Design Award.
The book is going into its third reprint. — VNS
