HCM CITY (VNS) — An exhibition showcasing Vietnamese posters used during the American war is ongoing at the NUS Museum in Singapore.

The "Vietnam 1954-1975" exhibition features posters, woodcuts and drawings from the resistance war against the Americans, and drawings and sketches of life and people at the frontlines.

The paintings are property of Ambassador Dato' N Parameswaran who was Malaysia's Ambassador to Viet Nam from 1990 to 1993.

Dr Nora Taylor, professor of Southeast Asian Art History at the School of the Chicago Art Institute, gave a talk on how the war, its ideology and visual legacy is perceived today by the younger group of post-1975 artists on the exhibition's opening day.

The event, which opened on June 26, runs until next April. — VNS
