HA NOI (VNS)— Short film David And Luisa by director Bui Trung Hai will vie for an award at an online competition launched by Viewster Online Film Festival.
The 22-minute film, made by Hai in 2012, features a love story about two acting students in Los Angeles. The film was shot in the US when Hai studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy.
Audiences can vote for David And Luisa on the festival website festival.viewester.com from June 12 – 26. The top ten films will progress to the finals, with winners to be announced by a three-member jury on July 7.
The winner will be awarded US$70,000 in cash and have the opportunity to expose themselves to a new fan base of Viewster followers, which numbers more than 20 million members worldwide.
Hai is currently working at Viet Nam Film Studio. He won the Gold Remi Award at WorldFest – Houston International Film Festival in 2008 for his first film Khi Nang Thu Ve (When Autumn Sunlight Comes) and the Silver Lotus title for Ha Noi 12 Ngay Dem (Ha Noi's 12 Nights and Days) at the Viet Nam National Film Festival in 2004. — VNS
