HA NOI (VNS)— All Vietnamese players were ousted from the Badminton World Federation's World Junior Championships in Thailand.
In the men's singles events, Pham Cao Cuong lost 18-21, 16-21 to Fabian Roth from Germany. Pham Hoang Nam was beaten 11-21, 10-21 by Jun Peng Zhao of China. Do Duc Tuan was sent home after a 18-21, 16-21 defeat by Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man.
On the women's side, Nguyen Thuy Linh lost 16-21, 13-21 to Chinese Qin Jinjing. While Akane Yamaguchi from Japan defeated Dinh Thi Phuong Hong 21-19, 21-16.
Viet Nam's five pairs also suffered the same fate.
The world championships will continue until Sunday. — VNS
