The Vietnamese Under-22 men's football team came from behind to beat hosts Thailand 2-1 in a friendly match in Bangkok on Tuesday.
The Thai team opened the score in the 29th minute. A few minutes later they gained an advantage over Viet Nam after Le Quoc Phuong was sent off with a red card.
However, the Vietnamese team was not discouraged and launched attacks that resulted in two goals in the second half thanks to Nguyen Hai Huy.
In the last minute of the match, Nguyen Van Thuan received a second yellow card and was sent off. Although only playing with nine players, the Vietnamese still kept their 2-1 lead.
The team is expected to leave Thailand for Myanmar in preparation for the ASEAN Football Confederation U22 Asian Cup 2013 qualifiers, which will take place from June 23 to July 3.-VNS
