HA NOI (VNS)— The first Vietnamese action fantasy film, Once Upon a Time in Viet Nam, will represent the country at the third ASEAN Prague Film Festival (September 9-13).
The film was directed by Dustin Nguyen, who stars in it along with Roger Yuan.
Other entries include the Philippines' RPG Metanoia, Thailand's Ladda Land, Indonesia's Garuda di Dadaku and Malaysia's Songlap.
Victorian Lecaros, Filipino ambassador to the Czech Republic and chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Prague, hoped the films would help audiences understand real life in ASEAN countries.
The Vietnamese entry will be screened on the last day of the festival. At the two previous festivals in Prague, Chuyen Cua Pao (Pao's Story) by director Do Thanh Hai and Canh Dong Bat Tan (The Floating Lives) by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh were screened. — VNS
